Ultra-wideband Adaptive Switchable FSS Design with High Selectivity

In this article, an ultra-wideband adaptive switchable FSS with high selectivity is proposed. The passive cell has steep sidebands, and ultra-wide passband. PIN diodes are loaded to switch pass-stop state, and the effect of parasitic capacitance is analyzed and optimized. Fast adaptive control system is designed to control the switchable FSS, and principal prototype is manufactured. In PASS state, the measured −3 dB passband is from 1.92 to 12 GHz, and the transition bandwidth from −3 dB to −20 dB is only 106 MHz. |S
