Advisory System Using Sentiment Analysis (ASSA) for Improved Student Feedback and Academic Advising

An Advisory System using Sentiment Analysis (ASSA) is proposed to analyze student reviews and assist faculty and university officials in addressing challenging areas of teaching and learning. In addition to analyzing student comments to determine sentiment polarity, the emotions communicated, and contentment versus discontent, the proposed system also enables the advisor to provide their comments in response to the student's feedback. ASSA will generate recommendations based on input from both the students and their advisors. ASSA for improved student feedback and academic advising has a high accuracy rate that supports and aids academic advisors in their attempts to provide reliable, accurate, and continuous advising services to their students. Also, this system aims to execute the classification of review data and perform prescriptive analysis with promising outcomes. ASSA has proven to be an effective tool for academic advisors, enabling them to analyze student feedback, offer appropriate recommendations, and enhance the overall advising experience.
