Data Center Secure Communication via DNA Hyperchaotic Encryption

As data centers continue to grow in size and importance, protecting the security of data during connectivity becomes critical. In this paper, we propose a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) reconfigurable chaotic sequence multilayer encryption scheme for 4-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM 4) systems, which can enhance significantly the security of data center interconnection (DCI). This method employs a hash function to extract a message digest in order to generate a dynamic key. Additionally, it utilizes the Chen hyperchaotic system to generate three simultaneous PAM 4-based chaotic sequences. One of these sequences is selected for an initial round of chaotic encryption. Subsequently, the sequence is bifurcated into two paths, while the two other chaotic sequences are employed for the second round of chaotic encryption. Following a 3dB attenuation of one of two chaotic encrypted sequences, a PAM 4 sequence is synthesized and subsequently subjected to DNA encryption. The signals of 60 Gbps in a data center are successfully transmitted over 10 km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) and a back-to-back (BTB) system. These results show that this scheme can effectively improve the security of data transmission without reducing the quality of data transmission, which provides an effective and robust security solution for DCI.
