Design of a Digital Rf Beacon To Rescue The Soldiers Trapped In Ice Glaciers

In demanding circumstances, army personnel face the challenging task of safeguarding our nation's borders. In India, the northern and northwestern borders are characterized by heavy snowfall. These locations pose significant challenges to soldiers who must endure extremely low temperatures while on duty. One common danger they encounter is the risk of being buried under snow glaciers that collapse and accumulate on them. Recently, a newspaper reported a remarkable incident in the Himalayan region where an Indian soldier, trapped under an avalanche for six days, was miraculously found alive and rescued from a depth of at least 7 meters (25 feet) beneath the snow. Tragically, nine others lost their lives in the same incident. The treacherous conditions at the 5,800-meterhigh glacier make military patrols there highly perilous. Therefore, any technology or system capable of saving even one soldier would provide immense support to their families, benefit the country, and enhance the morale and confidence of the military personnel. To address this issue, a proposed solution is the implementation of a Digital RF Beacon. This system aims to assist soldiers working in harsh environments, specifically identifying them when they become trapped in ice glaciers due to avalanches. Not only would this device be valuable for soldiers, but it could also aid civilians and mountain skiers who are at risk of being buried under ice glaciers during snow avalanches. Equipped with a transceiver and necessary sensors, this beacon would enable timely rescue operations by locating individuals in need. Additionally, it could serve as a safety device for enhanced protection.
