Summary

This chapter describes the main phase‐shifting algorithms (PSAs) when the fringe patterns are recorded at a regular phase‐sampling rate. We analyze some classical PSAs using the frequency transfer function (FTF) framework. It is also discusses the synthesis of arbitrarily complex PSAs based on first order building blocks, analyzing their spectral response, detuning error, signal‐to‐noise ratio, and harmonic response
