Inter-satellite OWC Architecture for LEO-GEO Scenarios

Forthcoming communication between low earth orbit as well as geostationary earth orbit satellites will be usually deployed for utilizing optical wireless communication (OWC) in satellite services. To enhance the communication in inter satellite scenario, an OWC system is incorporated in this paper. For this a 20Gbps OWC system is realized and investigated for inter-satellite links. Results introduce that faithful range of 18000-35000km for non return to zero and 18000-32000km for return to zero is obtained in OWC architecture. In addition, the obtained eye patterns along with optical spectra introduce the architecture performance for varied range of 18000-36000km. It is verified that the architecture comprises superior performance over other existing ones satellite communication systems.
