A Low-Carbon Economic Operation Method of Green Virtual Power Plant

With the proliferation of renewable energies, the consumption of renewable power has been a hot potato with considerations of the uncertainty and randomness. This paper proposes a green virtual power plant model to promote the consumption of renewable power and build a low-carbon society. A low-carbon economic operation model is proposed for the green virtual power plant model from the perspective of social welfare. Then, a distributed interactive algorithm based on the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers theory is proposed to solve the operation model and protect the privacy of participants. The effectiveness of the low-carbon economic operation model is tested on a green virtual power plant consisted of one wind power producer and four power consumers. Simulation results show that the proposed method can promote the consumptions of renewable power and reduce the total operation cost significantly.
