Leaf Recognition for Classifying Plant Species using Convolutional Neural Network

Plants are the primary source of food derived. They are found abundantly on earth; hence their classification is critical to take advantage of the resource in an efficient manner. To find out the species to which they belong, to classify them whether they are edible, non-edible, poisonous, etc. Plant classification not only helps us in medical, research fields, etc. In our research, we have included 99 species, which we classify. This classification is done based on the spectral features, shapes, venation, edges, color, leaf pattern, and geometric features of the leaves. There are many Neural Networks used for these kinds of classifications. We in our piece of research have used Convolution Neural Network. Many other models like PNN, SVM, and KNN can also be used individually or collectively.
