Joint Quality-Reliability Analysis of Gamma-Shadowed TWDP Channel Model in Weak Hyper-Rayleigh Mode

The research performs the Joint Quality-Reliability (JQR) analysis of the multipath fading channel in weak hyper-Rayleigh mode (HRM). The assumed statistical model is the two-wave diffuse power channel with gamma-distributed variations of the local mean power. A closed-form expression for the Amount of Fading (AoF) is derived, and the exact bound for the weak HRM (in terms of the AoF) is obtained as the set of conditions implied on the channel parameters. The latter were used for the evaluation of the outage probability and error rate in the case of poor propagation conditions (i.e., fading heavier than Rayleigh). The performed numerical simulation and the analysis of its results demonstrated the impact of channel as well as system parameters (e.g., constellation size, threshold signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), etc.) on the JQR performance.
