Geographical Aggregation of Distributed UAVs for Channel Rendezvous

This paper investigates the problem of geographical aggregation in distributed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms for channel rendezvous. Designing an effective geographical aggregation method is challenging due to the high mobility and restricted geographical sensing range of each UAV. To address the challenge, based on genetic algorithm, gradient descent algorithm, and motion control, this paper formulates a distributed UAV motion model and proposes a novel integrated genetic algorithm and gradient descent for aggregation in motion (IGAGD-AIM) method for the UAV swarms. The simulation results demonstrate that the IGAGD-AIM method can effectively achieve geographical aggregation in distributed UAV swarms, thereby improving the efficiency of channel rendezvous in UAV swarms.
