In-depth Analysis on Secure and Privacy-Preserving Smart Care Homes based on Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has extended beyond the usual healthcare settings to include smart care homes, where advanced technology and interconnected smart sensory devices enable remote monitoring and real-time treatment for elderly people residing in care homes. This is possible due to sophisticated technology and the networked architecture of IoMT-based smart care homes. This review paper contributes to the increasing amount of scholarly research on IoMT security in the context of smart care homes by in-depth analyzing and thoroughly evaluating the recent security trends. This paper gives prominence to the security and privacy requirements addressed by current methods, as well as various possible attacks that need resistance. It also highlights ongoing issues and some future directions for privacy-preserving and secure IoMT-based smart care homes after comparing the existing research works in terms of various aspects.
