Automated Clean and Cooling System for Solar Photovoltaic Panels using IoT

This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IOT)-based automated system for cleaning and real-time monitoring of solar panels, utilizing a microcontroller to enhance the output of solar panel modules efficiently. The accumulation of dust on solar panel surfaces diminishes the amount of sunlight reaching the underlying solar cells, thereby reducing overall panel efficiency. To address this, a cooling system is proposed to effectively lower the temperature and enhance the power generation performance of photovoltaic cells. Additionally, the system minimizes the need for manual labor in panel cleaning. A circulation through cooling water tubes is positioned behind the solar panel to reduce its temperature, with the efficiency of the photovoltaic solar panel improving as the operating temperature decreases. This paper outlines the implementation of an automated solar panel cleaning and cooling system, emphasizing the integration of IOT technology. The system incorporates features for dust monitoring, cleaning, and cooling, ultimately contributing to an overall increase in the efficiency of solar PV panels.
