Stochastic Dynamic Economic Dispatch of Power Systems Taking Into Account Risk Factors

In recent years, with the large-scale grid connection of wind power and the increase of wind power penetration level, it brings a large amount of uncertainty to the dispatching operation of the power system, which has attracted extensive attention from domestic scholars. To cope with the uncertainty in wind turbine output, it is common practice to add rotating standby constraints to the construction of the model. Then, based on the historical data of each time period, different rotating reserves are adopted based on the experience of safe operation of the power system. However, it is not economical to use a large number of rotating reserves, so there is a need to develop risk assessment methods that take into account uncertain turbine output. In this paper, an opportunity-constrained dynamic economic dispatch model with simultaneous optimisation of generator output and rotating reserve capacity is developed to cope with the multiple uncertainties in the power system. The safe and economic operation of the power system is influenced and constrained by multiple uncertainties such as renewable energy generation output, load and forced unit outages, and therefore the decision to consider rotating reserve capacity in dynamic economic dispatch needs to be taken into account. With this background, this paper establishes a chance-constrained dynamic economic dispatch model for the coordinated optimisation of generator output and rotating reserve capacity based on the use of fuzzy variables to represent renewable energy generation output and load and discrete random variables to represent the forced outage rate of thermal power units, and uses improved clear equivalence classes to deal with the chance constraints. The model fully analyses and considers the cost difference between different units providing rotating standby and the economic benefits generated by rotating standby, and the difference in rotating standby cost and economic benefits is added to the objective function of dynamic economic dispatch to maximise the overall economic benefits of the system on the basis of the guaranteed rotating standby decision model. The feasibility of the proposed model is verified through the analysis of an IEEE10 machine 39 node test system containing renewable energy generation.
