An algorithm for secure medical image transmission that utilizes Arnold’s Cat MaP and encode-decode

Maintaining patient record confidentiality in the age of telemedicine and e-health has become a difficult task. The digitization of medical data has increased the obligation of medical professionals to protect patient privacy. When patient data is integrated with medical images and transmitted electronically, vulnerabilities are introduced that may jeopardize patient privacy and result in legal action. This paper explores the complex field of medical image transmission security, recognizing the need to strike a delicate balance between the need to protect patient information and accessibility for diagnostic purposes. A novel strategy that applies the encode-decide method and incorporates Arnold’s Cat Map is proposed to address these issues. In addition to protecting patient privacy during transmission and storage, this technique takes into account situations in which some information must be kept confidential, such as in medical research.The proposed method for secure medical image transmission presents unique results with a Normalized Cross-Correlation Peak Ratio (NCPR) of 98.5 and a Universal Image Quality Index (UACI) of 31.12, and these mark its superiority over other methods, highlighting its potential as a robust solution for accurate and high-quality medical image communication. This research adds to the ongoing efforts to implement strong security measures in the constantly changing intersection of healthcare and technology by finding a delicate balance between confidentiality and integrity, ensuring patient data remains private and secure in the digital age.
