Development of 2D Games for Indonesian Language Evaluation Test at High School Level

The utilization of game-based language learning is prevalent in contemporary times. The aforementioned phenomenon can be attributed to the proclivity of students to exhibit curiosity over the presence of games inside their everyday routines. This study is a comprehensive description of the techniques and methodology employed in the creation and development of 2D game platforms used for evaluating the Indonesian language proficiency. The various stages involved in the production of this game include problem definition, genre design, theme design, gameplay design, and game functioning testing. Positive results were obtained during the initial phases of development for a 2D platformer game designed for the purpose of Indonesian language evaluation test at high school.
