A review of key technologies of shore power systems

The shore power system is able to replace the ship's fuel oil power generation with clean electricity, reducing the greenhouse gas emissions during ship berthing. With the integration of large-scale renewable power generation into the power system, there are still some key issues of the shore power system to be resolved. In this paper, a comprehensive review of the key technologies of shore power systems is presented. Firstly, this paper summarizes the system topological structure of the shore power system with increasing penetration of renewables. Then, the shore power system standards and the load transfer strategy are summarized. Finally, the wireless power transfer technology for ship charging is reviewed. The research can provide a reference for the operation of shore power systems.
