Implementation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems -LEVEL-1 for Electric Vehicles

Annual traffic fatalities are declining. The growing prevalence and sophistication of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) is a significant contributing factor. One of the most popular research topics in the automobile sector is ADAS. The design and execution of an ADAS experimental platform for automobiles are presented in this thesis. An introduction of ADAS-related automotive concepts is given in the thesis, including the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), frequently used automotive communication protocols, and operating systems (OS) for automobiles. Furthermore, a broad overview of ADAS is provided, along with an overview of the latest technological advancements. The platform's design is accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of the hardware and a rationale for every design decisions. The Multiple ECUs are connected via a switched Ethernet network made up of numerous switches in the architecture. A replica car that mimics a real car and is furnished with actuators and sensors is also a part of the design. The system can read sensor data, control actuators, and operate the car through a control interface, among other functions. The resultant system can be utilized and flexibly developed for various ADAS features and safety engineering as a proof-of-concept platform.
