Low Profile Super Wideband Koch Snowflake Fractal Based Monopole Antenna with Enhanced Bandwidth and Notching Characteristics

A low-profile, super-wideband Koch snowflake fractal monopole antenna with a chamomile flower slot and 50Ω triangular tapering feed line is presented in this paper. With a peak radiation efficiency of 96% and a frequency range of 3.91 to 16.04 GHz, this antenna offers a UWB. An inverted T-shaped slot is carved into a metallic trapezoidal ground plane and mounted on the back of the lossy FR4 substrate to substantially increase the antenna’s bandwidth. A super-wide band antenna with an impedance bandwidth ranging from 4.01 to 60 GHz and above is achieved. Additionally, notching features are integrated, which may inhibit WLAN, X band and radar band applications.
