Digitalization of Government Financial Services and its Impact on Sustainable Development Goals in India

This study investigates how the digitalization of government financial services affects the sustainable development goals in India. and this study used the five financial years from 2018 to 2022 secondary data that was collected from twenty-eight states and three union territories of the Indian government’s official websites. and the panel data analysis method was employed because the data was cross-sectional and time series. That methodology helps investigate the impact of the digitalization of government financial services and how it affects the sustainable development goals in India. The findings reveal that the digitalization of government financial services is significantly affecting sustainable development goals. and the findings recommend that the government can provide most of the financial services in digital mode, but the government has a challenge of financial literacy and financial infrastructure weakness. The digital platform has the potential to reduce micro corruption. So government must build a digital payment-related security department the department helping to monitor financial fraud and complaints. and the government can take the help of micro-financial institutions, RRBs, Post offices, and NGOs to provide financial literacy. This would facilitate financial inclusion, foster economic growth, and alleviate poverty and the government would achieve its digital India initiative.
