Sequence selection for nonlinear probabilistic shaping: toward a practical implementation

The performance and implementation of nonlinear probabilistic shaping is discussed. We propose a sequence selection scheme that avoids the interaction with forward error correction and achieves a gain of 0.082 bits/s/Hz.
