Improving Solar Power Efficiency: A Comparison of MPPT Methods with a Focus on Hybrid ANNP&O Controller

Solar energy holds significant potential in India, with a growing application across various sectors. In photovoltaic (PV) systems, capturing solar energy successfully is crucial. PV modules exhibit nonlinear trends in response to various irradiance and temperature conditions, making it crucial to operate them at their maximum power point (MPP) for most fulfilling performance. This paper provides a smart ANN-P&O MPPT controller for boost converters in PV structures, aiming to enhance power efficiency via optimizing the maximum power issue. It compares this method with conventional MPPT methods (IC and P&O) through simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK, highlighting the controller's effectiveness in diverse conditions.
