SRAM PUFs: A Study of Aging Impact and Potential Mitigation

This paper presents a study of the aging Impact on SRAM PUF and the potential mitigation. Moreover, the natural variabilities in SRAM cells are harnessed by SRAM PUFs to create cryptographic keys that are unique, random, and naturally unpredictable. Our investigation focuses on the inherent randomness found in SRAM. This study also unveils that the aging of SRAM cells can alter their behavior, thus potentially affecting the reliability and security of PUF-based systems. Through a thorough analysis, the paper sheds light on the underlying mechanisms of this relationship, identifies potential vulnerabilities, and proposes mitigation strategies. The research contributes to an enriched understanding of SRAM PUFs’ long-term performance and security, striving to strike an intricate balance between randomness and aging.
