Design of Isolated Flyback Transformer for 50-200 kHz switching frequency range

This paper presents the design methodology and optimization techniques employed in developing an isolated flyback transformer suitable for a switching frequency range of 50-200kHz.The study investigates the methodology of transformer design, taking into account factors such as core material selection, winding configurations. This methodology also involves several calculations. By employing several calculations, the proposed methodology aims to achieve efficient energy transfer, minimal losses, and reliable operation within the specified frequency range. For our application that requires delivering an average output power of 50 Watt, a choke filter is used instead of a power transformer. The purpose that we used the transformer is to provide an isolation between primary side and secondary side, which is mainly required by safety standards for electronic devices. Hence, the transformer magnetizing inductance is designed to be more in this type of transformer, to be able to store some amount of energy.
