Mobile health applications for monitoring children’s oral health at school

This paper aims to development of an information system tailored for the management of individual oral health examination data among primary school children in Thailand’s Kuantan district. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, comprising three phases. In phase 1, a comprehensive situation analysis is conducted through documentary reviews and group discussions. Phase 2 focuses on the development of a prototype information system, aligning with Agile development principles. Finally, in phase 3, the application is implemented, and its feasibility is assessed through the administration of a questionnaire. The study’s findings highlight the critical features required for the system, including data export capabilities to the Health Data Center (HDC) database, the generation of summarized examination results, streamlined appointment scheduling, comprehensive analysis at both the school and district levels, versatile data export formats, and user-friendly data entry options. The questionnaire results underscore high levels of satisfaction with the system’s efficiency improvement and its provision of detailed summary reports. Future research endeavors should explore a larger population to further validate and enhance the system’s effectiveness.
