Development of a Mathematical Model of a Rail-Type Electrodynamic Mass Accelerator

This paper proposes a mathematical model for calculating a rail-type electrodynamic mass accelerator, without taking into account ohmic heating. The analyzed solution results obtained in the MathCAD system using the Runge-Kutta method made it possible to select the optimal operating parameters of the supply capacitor bank - an initial voltage of 850 V and a capacity of 0.05 F. With these settings and a maximum current of 350 A, a thrown object weighing 1 gram accelerates up to a speed of 2.85 km/s on rails 2 meters long. During numerical experiments, a relationship was discovered between the launching speed of the thrown object, the initial voltage and the capacitance of the capacitor bank.
