Security Analysis of Wireless Sensor Networks in Prospective Aircraft Industry

This paper analyzes the use of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in aviation industry and the importance of maintaining an up-to-date security to protect against potential vulnerabilities. A comprehensive approach to WSN development involving highly accurate timing, signal shaping features, and secure ranging sensing techniques is proposed in the paper. The importance of conducting periodic security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and maintain a high level of protection is also emphasized. The paper focuses on the use of ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology and IEEE 802.15.4z standard for time-of-arrival (ToA) and two-way range-based network organization. This article presents the advantages of using sub-STS, which is proposed as a method for secure ToA of multicast messages for multiple devices.
