Survey on Image-Oriented Transmission Line Inspection via UAV

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is exploited gi-gantically to substitute the human beings in the wild natural working environments to face the challenges of severe climate situations and low job efficiency. This paper surveys the reported applications of UAV in long-distance transmission line inspection via the research and techniques in image processing. It discusses the major pros and cons of the state of the art methods and discloses the future working directions to benefit the research domain.
