In-Vivo Channel Characterization based on Skin-fat Models with Distinct Structure at Terahertz Band

To investigate the impact of the skin structure on the terahertz in-vivo channel characteristics, four skin-fat models with distinct structures were constructed, and full-wave electromagnetic simulations were performed on the vertical and horizontal links respectively. Power delay profile, path loss, and channel capacity of $4 \times 4$ multiple-input-multiple-output channel are presented in this paper. The results indicate that the skin boundaries significantly affect the channel characteristics of the vertical link, while blood vessels and sweat ducts have a notable impact on the channel characteristics of the horizontal link.
