Survey Study of Digital Forensics: Challenges, Applications and Tools

Cybercrimes are a sort of crime that depends on the nature of contemporary society and are a result of the digital revolution that the world has seen today and the rise of a digital electronic society that uses information technology to manage most aspects of life. Without a precise data gathering and analysis process in place beforehand, cyber security has grown more and more challenging to detect with the advent of numerous cyberattacks. The science of digital forensics oversees identifying this kind of crime. In this paper, the most crucial elements of this field of study, including its methods, applications, difficulties, tools, and characteristics, are reviewed. It is rare to find studies summarizing the most important aspects of this topic in an easy way, like this paper. As a result, we introduced a paper that reviews the digital forensics science topics in a suitable way. This may help the researchers later to choose their research orientations in this field by summarizing the most studies in this area in hence of methods and dataset used etc.
