An Overview of Safety using Information Routing Protocol in Vehicular Ad hoc Network

In recent times, Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as a promising technology to improve safety on the roads by enabling communication between vehicles and infrastructure elements. In this context, Information Routing Protocols (IRPs) play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and reliable dissemination of safety-related information among vehicles in VANETs. This paper presents an overview of the benefits and mechanisms of using IRPs to enhance safety in VANETs. The IRPs provide reliable message dissemination, support multi-hop communication, adapt to dynamic network topology, offer Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees, address security and privacy concerns, and facilitate coordination with infrastructure elements. By leveraging these capabilities, IRPs contribute to increased safety in VANETs by enabling timely and accurate delivery of critical safety information to vehicles. IRPs adapt to the dynamic network topology of VANETs, efficiently discovering and selecting the most suitable paths for message delivery. This adaptability is essential in the face of frequent topology changes caused by vehicle mobility, ensuring that safety information can flow seamlessly even in highly dynamic environments.
