Design and Simulation of 1kW Isolated AC-DC Converter Based on Planer Transformer

The design and analysis of high-power AC-DC isolated converters are of utmost importance in a wide range of applications, including renewable energy systems and industrial power supplies. Boost power factor correction (PFC) and full bridge DC-DC converter architectures are commonly employed due to their efficiency and compact designs. Central to these converters is the high-frequency transformer, which plays a critical role in voltage transformation and efficient energy transfer. This paper presents a comprehensive study of the design and analysis of a 1 kW AC-DC isolated converter. The focus of the study is centered around the detailed design and evaluation of a planar transformer. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Maxwell Ansys software is conducted to analyze the calculated and simulated parameters of the transformer. The obtained transformer parameters are then utilized in MATLAB simulations to assess the overall performance of the isolated ACDC converter.
