Comparing GraphQL and ReST Architecture in Arabic Learning Games: A Quality of Service (QoS) Approach

The development of Arabic learning applications has advanced with the incorporation of gamification, combining game elements with language learning skills like listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, the use of the ReST (Representational State Transfer) architecture has presented challenges, leading to slow data response times and hindering access to learning features. To address this issue, the adoption of the GraphQL (Graph Query Language) architecture is proposed as a solution to overcome the limitations of ReST. GraphQL's popularity among developers makes it a suitable alternative for handling data distribution challenges from the server to the database. This study aims to implement the GraphQL architecture in Arabic learning game applications, which has proven to be successful and feasible. The quality of service testing confirms that the GraphQL implementation exhibits faster response times, more efficient utilization of processing resources, and lower memory usage compared to the ReST architecture.
