Research Progress on the Application of RF Fingerprint Technology in UAV Signal Recognition

With the rapid development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, UAV signal recognition has become a hot research direction in the field of wireless communication at present. Radio frequency (RF) fingerprinting technology is an emerging signal recognition method, which can use the transient and steady-state features of signals in feature engineering to achieve signal recognition and classification, and can also be directly recognized and classified by deep learning methods. In this paper, the research on the application of RF fingerprinting technology in UAV signal recognition is reviewed. Firstly, the characteristics of UAV signals and their classification methods are introduced, then the principle of RF fingerprinting technology and its application in UAV identification are elaborated, and finally the advantages and shortcomings of RF fingerprinting technology in UAV signal identification are comprehensively analyzed, and the directions and challenges of future research are pointed out.
