Mitigating Distributed Denial of Service Attacks Through IP Spoofing Detection

Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks pose a significant threat to network-based service providers. The utilization of numerous compromised devices by attackers to launch these attacks adds a layer of complexity to their management. This complexity can further escalate when multiple attackers collaborate to target a single victim. Moreover, the proficiency required for attackers to execute such assaults has diminished, making the threat landscape more widespread. The focus of this research is to devise a solution to counter Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The presence of IP spoofing complicates the identification of malicious traffic, blurring the line between genuine connections and malevolent activities. The primary aim is to introduce an approach for the prevention of Distributed Denial of Service attacks. The proposed system is designed to possess the capability to actively monitor network traffic, promptly detecting and thwarting any unauthorized attempts to breach the network. The outcomes of the investigation reveal a favorable impact of the proposed strategy in mitigating the impact of DDoS attacks.
