Packet Multipath Transport in SDN-Based Hybrid Networks

Network information security issues are getting increasingly attention nowadays. SDN network architecture and P4 programmable network technology realize the programmability of network control plane and data plane, so that network information security issues can be solved from the perspective of network design. For network information security, multipath scheduling strategy is often used for data transmission, which can lead to packet disorder at the receiver side. In this paper, we propose a packet multipath scheduling algorithm PDBMT based on the FLARE algorithm. The PDBMT algorithm can avoid information theft or acquisition of all packets somewhere in the network therefore, and avoid packet disorder problems at the receiver. The PDBMT algorithm is based on the arrival time of the current packet to the scheduling node, the arrival time of the previous packet, the delay of the path selected by the previous packet, and the path delay of each path to plan the scheduling policy. On the premise of avoiding packet disorder, a transmission path different from the previous packet is selected for the current packet as much as possible, and the transmission flow of the whole network is fully spread over multiple paths as much as possible. Experiments show that the PDBMT algorithm achieves better network information protection compared with the general multipath scheduling algorithm.
