A Measurement-Based Dynamic Harmonic Model for Single-Phase Diode Bridge Rectifier-Type Devices

Home appliances with single-phase diode bridge rectifiers (SDBRs) are widely used due to the rapid development of power electronics technology. This article proposes a dynamic harmonic model based on measured data for SDBR-type devices. First, the SDBR-type devices are categorized into two types by identifying the current waveform difference diagram. Second, the harmonic coupled models are established for two types of devices, and the circuit parameters are estimated using the
$Z$
transform method based on the measured voltage and current data. Third, to accurately characterize the device dynamics, the recursive partial least squares method with an adaptive update strategy is applied to the dynamic circuit parameter estimation process, which allows for fast and accurate estimation of dynamically changing circuit parameters. Finally, the effectiveness, accuracy, and dynamics of the proposed model and parameter estimation method are verified by the simulation and experiment, and the proposed method is applied to circuit parameter fault diagnosis.
