Monitoring System Design And Controlling Smart Home Features With The Blynk App

The smart home combines applications between technology and services specifically aimed at the home environment to increase efficiency, safety, and comfort for its residents. The development of smart home technology is the impact of technological advances that aim to help people manage their daily activities by controlling electronic equipment and monitoring the house’s condition. This study aims to design a tool that can monitor and control the use of electronic devices in the home from anywhere automatically and in real-time, which can be done through the Blynk application from a smartphone connected to the internet network or called an Internet Of Things (IoT) device. The design of this smart home system was built using the NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller and with supporting devices such as the GSM SIM800L V2, PZEM-400T module, relay, real-time clock (RTC), AC dimmer, and buzzer. With that, occupants can control, receive notifications and monitor electrical loads that are simultaneously used with various output variations, either as On/Off switches, switches with timers, or dimmers that can dim and illuminate incandescent lamps. One of the relays in this design module functions like an MCB, namely as an overload protection that will trip if the current exceeds 5A, which can be revived via Blynk.
