Modeling and Analysis of Step-down Switched Capacitor DC-DC Converter for SoC

As a subset of DC-DC power converters, switched capacitor (SC) converters solely employ switches and capacitors are effective in converting one voltage to another. For two-phase 2:1 SC converters, this paper provides an exhaustive analysis and approach for efficiency improvement. First, different parameters modeled by implementing them into the dual-phase 2:1 series parallel SC converter to make a realizable design. To get an optimized efficiency value, several influences on efficiency investigated by adjusting switch resistance, load resistance, switching frequency, capacitor area, and switch area. There is a good correlation between the analysis conclusions and those from the simulation. Simulation and MATLAB modeling used for the validation of this analysis technique.
