A Secure and Optimized Healthcare Data Governance Framework Leveraging Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain

Centralized storage of health data hampers patient-centric healthcare, restricting patient control and exacerbating issues of interoperability and data breaches, additionally introducing escalating costs and inefficiencies. The fragmentation of clinical data and the absence of a universal patient identification system further complicate the aggregation of medical records. Blockchain technology presents a promising solution to these challenges. It ensures the security of network infrastructure, validates the identities of all participants, and establishes consistent authorization protocols for accessing healthcare data. While various proposals seek to overcome existing limitations in healthcare systems through blockchain technology, these solutions often come with their own drawbacks. These include privacy issues in public blockchain systems, security vulnerabilities in permissioned blockchains, and storage limitations within blockchain systems. Some proposed solutions remain largely theoretical and may not be practically viable. In response to these pressing issues, we introduce an optimized framework designed to enhance data accessibility among healthcare providers using cutting-edge technologies like Hyperledger, IPFS, and Data Encryption. Furthermore, we have fine-tuned performance metrics in blockchain networks, addressing factors such as latency and throughput (TPS), resulting in significantly improved outcomes. In comparison to traditional blockchain-based healthcare data management, our proposed system not only delivers satisfactory performance but also effectively addresses concerns related to data privacy and storage.
