Performance of Selective DF Relay Aided Cooperative NOMA Under Imperfect SIC *

With the breakthrough of non orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), it can be anticipated that the future generations of communications, especially the 5th generation (5G) and beyond 5G will cater the unprecedented requirement of data oriented services. Towards this end, in this work, a selective decode and forward (DF) relaying cooperative NOMA system is designed to enhance the performance of NOMA systems. Predominantly, the selective DF (SDF) relay system at the destination implements a selection combining (SC) approach to decode the transmitted signal. With the major motive to illustrate the benefits of the suggested system, this work investigates the outage probability and bit error rate (BER) performances. Furthermore, we specifically formulate the analytical expressions of the outage probability (OP) and bit error rate (BER). The analytical framework and the simulation results of this work emphasizes that the suggested system greatly outperforms the existing systems in terms of lowering the probability of the occurrence of outage and additionally improves the BER performances.
