Optimal Location of Facts Devices for Power Loss Reduction and Voltage Improvement in Deregulated Power System Using Rider Optimization Algorithm

FACTS Devices enhance system loadability, making them the most effective congestion management strategies. Although FACTS controllers provide various advantages, their installation might be costly. The problem is initially described as a single-objective problem with the goals of maximizing branch loading, voltage stability, and loss. Increasing voltage stability, reducing power loss, and optimizing branch loading performance. Using a single-objective approach, the Rider optimization method was used to optimize the placement of the SVC and TCSC. The proposed method is evaluated and its outcomes are compared to those of the conventional genetic algorithm. The computation is done using the IEEE-30 bus technology in different test situations.
