An Optimized Node Localization Approach Using Quantized Salp Swarm Algorithm in WSNs

Sensor nodes must be located to accurately send and receive information in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), This study suggests the quantized salp swarm algorithm (QSSA) as a remedy for the node localization issue for a fixed layout of sensor nodes. The quantized salp swarm algorithm is the enhanced version of the salp swarm algorithm. The received signal strength (RSS)-based method for measuring range is used since it uses a range-based approach rather than a rangefree one and offers more accurate localization. The proposed node localization method is evaluated against particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the salp swarm algorithm (SSA). The effectiveness of the suggested approach is evaluated in terms of computation time and localization error using simulation analysis with MATLAB software.
