Design and Implementation of On-Board charger integrated with rooftop Solar PV for e-Rickshaw

Electric Vehicles are slowly replacing conventional vehicles in transportation due to the rising cost of conventional fuel. Energy demand will increase since the penetration of electric vehicles into the public charging system. On vehicle idle condition, the battery is charged from the grid or PV system. MPPT techniques are used to provide and monitor the maximum output of the solar panel to charge the battery. In this article, the PFC and buck converter charge the EV battery through the Grid supply and solar PV. By this topology On-Board charging time is reduced. Mechanical contactors use manual selection to choose the sources. The overall system is simulated by MATLAB/SIMULINK environment, and results are analyzed.
