Design of Protective Device Based on Conventional Measuring Sensor of LNG Storage Tank

During the storage and transportation of liquefied natural gas, there is a high-pressure ultra-low temperature environment in the storage tank. It is difficult to measure the relevant data in the tank directly because of the high requirements and complex working conditions. A protective device for the measurement of LNG storage tank is designed to isolate the measuring instrument from the high-pressure environment to protect the conventional sensor. In this paper, the composition and structure of the protective device are analyzed, and the structural parameters of key components are designed by strength calculation and optical thickness meter calculation. According to the precision requirements of the phase laser sensor, the laser phase delay caused by the cover plate is determined, and the corresponding thickness is calculated to facilitate the accuracy compensation. Finally, the mechanical analysis of the protection device in typical application scenarios is carried out to verify the mechanical properties of the measured protection device.
