Bidirectional Transmission of WDM-Based XGPON System with SRM and a Post DCF

The 10-Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology is an important part of the future of optical fiber communication systems. However, increasing data rates and transmission distances can lead to greater dispersion, presenting a challenge for this technology. To overcome this, a new model has been suggested in this paper. The model employs a typical Optical Network Unit (ONU) with the Square Root Module (SRM) positioned on the receiver side and is based on the Sub-Carrier Multiplexing/Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Radio over Fibre-10-Gigabit Passive Optical Network system (SCM/WDM-RoF-XGPON-POST-DCF). Additionally, a POST DCF fiber on OLT Side is suggested to improve the performance of the system. This innovative approach could help enhance both the reliability and data rate of GPON technology, making it an even more valuable asset in the future of optical fiber communication systems. The whole simulation is done on optisystem software.
