H2 EMS: A Simulation Approach of a Solar-Hydrogen Energy Management System

Through a comprehensive modeling technique utilizing Simulink, this research investigates the dynamic domain of Solar-Hydrogen Energy Management Systems (H2 EMS). The project analyzes the integration of solar and hydrogen technologies within an EMS framework in response to the growing demand for sustainable energy alternatives. The study discusses the importance of simulations in EMS development, emphasizing Simulink's critical role in modeling and analyzing the numerous components of H2 EMS. The study goals include Simulink modeling of solar energy generation, hydrogen production, and energy storage and conversion. Simulink models dive into the complexity of photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, electrolysis, and thermochemical reactions, allowing for a more detailed knowledge of efficiency variables and interdependencies. The study assesses system performance using Simulink-based metrics, does sensitivity studies to identify crucial factors, and addresses real-world applications and potential integration into existing energy infrastructure utilizing Simulink findings.
