Adoption of the Metaverse in the Healthcare Industry & Its Impacts on Humans: A Survey

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are transformational forces in technology that have attracted global attention. These technologies have created the framework for a multitude of future developments, with applications in a variety of industries to improve user experiences. The use of virtual and augmented reality has grown in popularity, with an increasing number of organizations incorporating these cutting-edge tools to improve their products and services. The recent surge in interest towards VR and AR has culminated in the emergence of the “Metaverse” concept, which has received extensive media coverage. Leading corporations have already begun projects to build their own metaverse realms. This extensive review is dedicated to explaining the concept of the metaverse, documenting its historical growth, and emphasizing its associated benefits. Using survey data, this research tries to delve into public concerns about the metaverse, understanding its possible repercussions on mental, physical, and psychological components of human life. The analytical exploration of the study has served two purposes: to equip individuals with insights into forthcoming technological paradigms and to furnish enterprises with invaluable guidance for creating impeccably functioning metaverses.
