Robust Observer for Takagi-Sugeno Systems based on ℒ2-attenuation approach: Application to Separately Excited DC Motor

This paper presents an analysis and design of a robust observer for a Separately Excited DC Motor (SE-DCM), employing Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy representation to address the nonlinear complexity of the system. Initially, the mathematical model of the SE-DCM is presented, followed by its fuzzy representation constructed via the sector non-linearity approach. -attenuation approach, with a central focus on the perturbations introduced by the sensor noise is presented. The stability of the error dynamics is ensured through the application of the second Lyapunov theorem, which provides stability conditions as Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). The effectiveness of this observer design is validated through simulation tests conducted on MATLAB/Simulink.
