Innovative Low-Cost Field Protection (LCFP) Technique: Safeguarding Agricultural Land and Crops through Advanced Technology Integration

Precision agriculture, characterized by integrating cutting-edge technologies to optimize farming practices, has opened up new possibilities for modern agricultural management. The present study introduces an innovative solution, Low-Cost Field Protection (LCFP) technique, meticulously tailored to safeguard agricultural land and crops from persistent threats posed by different creatures. This cutting-edge approach integrates advanced technologies to optimize farming practices and enhance precision agriculture. The LCFP technique employs a comprehensive and highly efficient three-module design to identify and repel potential intruders with remarkable efficacy. The first module uses a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor and an image sensor to detect animals, capturing images for further analysis. The system leverages the state-of-the-art object detection algorithm YOLOv5 and the widely acclaimed COCO dataset for precise animal recognition in the second module. Finally, the third module, driven by a Raspberry Pi, sends data about the detected animals and triggers ultrasound frequencies to sound an alarm through a buzzer, effectively deterring threats. With cost-effectiveness- at its core, the LCFP promises substantial mitigation of crop damages, elevating overall agricultural productivity, and advancing sustainability. By providing farmers with a vital proactive tool to respond swiftly to threats, the LCFP is a practical and reliable solution for protecting crops and agricultural land from various animal and bird attacks.
