Person Identification from Video Analytic System Using Edge Computing -A Review

Edge computing has proven that it can speed up system performance, use less bandwidth, and improve energy efficiency following the tendency that is moving data management from the network core to the edges. In areas like public safety, counterterrorism, anomaly detection, and other applications, low-latency video analytics are becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we have reviewed several recent pieces of research on person identification from video analytics systems using edge computing. Initially, the overview of video analytic systems and edge computing architecture are elaborated for understanding the concept and process. Finally, the drawbacks of previous studies are identified.
